Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Kathgodam to Lohajung (Approx. 225 km / 8–10 hrs)
The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathgodam railway station to Lohajung, a small village nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. En route, you'll witness beautiful views of rivers, terraced fields, pine forests, and charming villages. Lohajung is the base camp for the Brahmatal trek and offers a warm welcome with crisp mountain air and a cozy atmosphere. Overnight stay in guesthouses or lodges.

Day 2: Trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal (6 km, 4–5 hrs)
Your trek officially starts today. The trail ascends gradually through oak and rhododendron forests, offering mesmerizing views of Mt. Nanda Ghunti. Along the way, you might spot Himalayan birds and small forest clearings ideal for short breaks. The day's trek ends at Bekaltal — a beautiful high-altitude lake surrounded by tall trees. Camp by the lakeside for the night, with dinner under a star-studded sky.

Day 3: Trek from Bekaltal to Brahmatal (7 km, 5–6 hrs)
Today’s route involves trekking through snow-covered trails (in winter) and ridge walks. You'll pass through meadows with stunning views of the Trishul range. As you gain altitude, the landscape opens up to expansive snowfields. Brahmatal campsite is located close to the frozen Brahmatal Lake — a serene and spiritual spot. Enjoy the peaceful environment and camp here overnight.

Day 4: Trek from Brahmatal to Brahmatal Peak and back (7 km, 6–7 hrs)
This is the most thrilling and rewarding day. The climb to Brahmatal Peak (around 12,200 ft) is moderately steep and offers unmatched views of Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nanda Ghunti, and surrounding peaks like Chaukhamba. The 360-degree views from the top are unforgettable. After spending time at the summit, descend back to the Brahmatal campsite for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Trek from Brahmatal to Lohajung via Bekaltal (7 km, 5–6 hrs)
The descent back to Lohajung retraces your steps through the same serene forests and meadows. It’s easier on the lungs but harder on the knees — trekking poles help! Enjoy the final moments of walking through this pristine landscape. Reach Lohajung by afternoon and relax in a comfortable guesthouse.

Day 6: Drive back from Lohajung to Kathgodam
After breakfast, board the vehicles for the return drive to Kathgodam. Reflect on your journey through one of India’s most beautiful winter treks as you drive through mountain roads and valleys. Trip ends with cherished memories and lots of photographs!
