Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1 – Mcleod Ganj to Triund to Snowline | ~9 Kms | 6-7 hours

Arrive at McLeod Ganj in the morning and begin your scenic trek toward Triund. The trail passes through lush deodar and rhododendron forests, offering panoramic views of the Dhauladhar range. After a break and lunch at Triund (approx. 4-5 hours of ascent), continue the short but steeper trek to Snowline Camps (approx. 1.5–2 hours). Settle into camps at Snowline under the open sky with mesmerizing views. Enjoy a hot dinner and bonfire (weather permitting) before retiring for the night.

Day 2 – Snowline to Laka Glacier and back to Mcleod Ganj | ~11 Kms | 5-6 hours

Wake up early to catch sunrise views over the snowy Dhauladhar peaks. After breakfast, start your hike to Laka Glacier, a stunning snowfield depending on the season (especially active post-winter). Spend some time exploring the glacier and capturing beautiful moments before returning to Snowline and descending via Triund back to McLeod Ganj. The descent offers different perspectives of the Kangra valley and Dharamshala skyline. Reach by late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your Himalayan weekend escape.

Trek Overview

The Kuari Pass Trek, also known as the Curzon Trail, is one of the most scenic and beginner-friendly treks in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It offers mesmerizing views of some of India’s most majestic Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, and Chaukhamba.

The trek starts from the village of Dhak near Joshimath and takes you through dense oak and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows (bugyals), and snow-covered trails during winter. At an altitude of around 3,658 meters, Kuari Pass provides a stunning 180-degree view of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges.

Ideal for both beginners and seasoned trekkers, Kuari Pass is perfect for those looking to experience the grandeur of the Himalayas without venturing into high-altitude difficulty. The best time to do this trek is from March to June and September to early January.
